Skin Tolerance Tests

Ensuring the Consumer’s Safety

National and international legislations on cosmetics require every cosmetic product on the market to be safe for use. To ensure the consumer’s safety, the skin compatibility of cosmetic products and their ingredients have to be confirmed by scientific testing.
Skin tolerance tests allow you to estimate what percentage of the consumer population might be at risk of generating adverse skin reactions as a consequence of exposure to the products based on the number of adverse reactions upon application.

We can offer you skin tolerance studies based on well-established standard trials. To meet your individual needs we can also establish sponsor-specific study designs.
Tests on subjects with special skin features, such as sensitive skin or atopic skin, can be implemented to test the skin tolerance of products for highly sensitive skin. Likewise, skin tolerance may be tested on pre-damaged skin such as scarified or tape-stripped skin.
Based on our well-established network in the medical field, all studies can be conducted under supervision by dermatologists, ophthalmologists or pediatricians.
All visual assessments are performed by experts who regularly undergo training in which they synchronize their assessments and train their color vision using the Farnsworth- Munsell 100-hue test.
